The street where IODO office is located
IODO stands for Iringa Orphans Development Organization www.iringaorphans.org
Its aim is to use the power of education to help orphans and underprivileged children
in rural communities.
We both strongly believe that education is a right which must be accessible with decent conditions to all the children in the world. It is the key for improving life standard
and creating a better future.
Thanks to our friendship with Aidan, we had the chance to personally discover IODO,
its mission and concrete projects. IODO is a very small NGO, focusing on education
and conservancy, with its office based in Iringa, but operating to support children
of two schools in the vicinity of Ruaha wilderness, a 2-hour drive 75 km west from Iringa.
Our major aim for visiting IODO, was to experience on site the concrete projects to support 20 kids at KITISI PRIMARY SCHOOL and 21 students at IDODI SECONDARY SCHOOL.
With Aidan we drove to meet them, a day which will remain forever in our hearts and minds.
